What is AVOW2Go?

AVOW2Go started from the question: "What would we do if the internet disappeared tomorrow?". No doubt about it -- AVOW is chalk-full of invaluable preparedness content. Tips, ideas, recipes, procedures, and guides would be tough to live without. But what if you woke up tomorrow and no longer had access to AVOW, or the internet? We all know it's coming, we just don't know when.

With AVOW-2-Go, you'll always have an up-to-date copy of AVOW on your computer's hard drive. "Grab & Go", without losing access to your favorite posts and threads.

How does it work?

When you start the AVOW2Go app for the first time, you will enter your AVOW Username and Password. The app will contact the AVOW server and download all AVOW content from the very beginning until the most recent update (updates are created every week). Once downloaded, you can view, search, and print the forums, threads, and posts on AVOW using your laptop, with NO internet access required! The app requires about 4gb of disk space, and comprises more than a million posts.

How much does it cost?

AVOW2Go requires an active AVOW membership, plus an AVOW2Go Membership ($44.95 per year). However, until the end of August, you can get an AVOW2Go subscription for $9.95 (Saving you $30!). When you think about the amount of time and cost involved in creating a custom windows application JUST for our AVOW members, we think you'll agree the price is more than fair.

Does AVOW2Go remember which posts and threads are my favorite?

Absolutely. AVOW already has a feature that allows you to "mark as favorite" the posts and threads that you don't want to lose track of. Mark them as "favorite" on AVOW, and you'll see them in your favorites list in the AVOW2Go app. (And vice-versa!). This makes AVOW a very powerful tool -- mark the content you never want to lose track of, and some day when the grid goes down, you'll have one-click access to that content on your laptop -- PLUS all the other content on AVOW.

What devices will it work on?

Currently, AVOW2Go is only supported on Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8, etc.). 80%+ of AVOW members use Windows, so we thought this would be a good starting point. In the future, we'll add support for iPhones, iPads, Androids, and Macs. You'll be able to access AVOW2Go from any supported device with just ONE subscription for your family.

What content is included? What's not included?

All of the major forums from AVOW are included. The only forums not included are the Social Groups. Private Messages are also not included in this version (but will likely be included in the 2.0 release). Note that a few posts from AVOW link to external internet sites, or use images from third-party websites. These posts may not display quite right if the internet goes down.

Can I print the content?

Yes. You can print any thread or post.
