christopher :: Administrator
Site Owner and Manager
Born in 1963 in Southern California, Christopher grew up in a non-LDS family with little or no religious influence. After graduating Corona Del Mar High School in 1981 he went on to Orange Coast College to study aviation and obtained his pilot’s license.
Transferring to the University of Colorado at Boulder, Christopher received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Subsequently, he enlisted in the US Army as a Combat Medic in the 82nd Airborne where he served 3 years on active duty. He was recalled back to service for the Gulf War. While serving in the Army, Christopher joined the LDS church and married Suzanne, his beloved wife. They have been married 18 years and have 4 children.
Christopher has always had a strong and abiding interest in all aspects of preparedness. His interest in preparedness took on new meaning in 1997 when his father gave him a copy of Roger K. Young’s book, As a Thief in the Night. From that point forward, his religion and faith became great motivators in his preparedness activities. In 2005, Christopher joined Roger’s online preparedness forums and became the publisher of Roger’s books. Shortly after joining the forums, he became the chief administrator, taking over the day-to-day operations, and beginning a long process of major upgrades and improvements to the site. In 2007, Christopher moved to Idaho to work with Roger on a full-time basis. He also purchased the forums to become the sole owner.
Christopher has served in a variety of preparedness callings over the last 18 years, and is currently the Preparedness Committee Chairman in his ward. He frequently travels to both church and secular group meetings to make preparedness presentations.
In addition to publishing most of Roger’s books, Christopher has compiled two books of his own: LDS Preparedness Manual and Dreams, Visions, and Testimonies of the Last Days, Vol. II. The LDS Preparedness Manual is available in both a general format, available to everyone, and a special edition available only to Ward Bishoprics and Stake Presidencies to share with members under their specific priesthood stewardship.

Moravec :: Administrator
NBC
The best way to describe Moravec is simple yet very complicated. Now if you understand that you are well ahead of everyone else trying to figure him out.
Moravec is a knowledgeable instructor and lecturer on a great deal of emergency preparedness and disaster response topics. His entire life has been involved with emergencies and disasters either being in the middle of them, the cause of them, or just as a responder to such. His seminars reflect the real world hands-on knowledge gained from such. His seminars range from simple food/water storage to first aid to incident management to nuclear, biological and chemical preparation and response. He brings this attitude and knowledge to the AVOW site and insists on teaching whenever and where ever he can spending most of his waking minutes in such pursuit.
Special Skills and Qualifications
- • A big red “S” on his chest (his wife insists it stands for stubborn)

Education & Home Schooling, Family History
Born and raised Irish Catholic, adult convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mom of six, mostly grown, wonderful kids. I’ve been the Family History Consultant in my ward for eight years, also choir director, numerous positions in Boy Scouts of America (both in Church troops & others), served in numerous positions in Primary while my kids were little, and home schooled my kids for about 10 years. Love the outdoors (camping, river running, hiking, skiing, water sports of all kinds, snow shoeing, nature photography…), cooking (both in my kitchen and in the outdoors with my Dutch Ovens), sewing, music (most kinds), watching ballet, horseback riding, bicycling, ballroom dancing, opera, practiced as a lay midwife for 8 years, audiologist, and photographer, to name a few. I love life, and enjoy trying most everything it has to offer – so long as it’s gluten free and doesn’t involve dangling from a rope or jumping from a high place.

Concerning Preparedness...
“The counsel to have a year's supply of basic food, clothing, and commodities was given fifty years ago and has been repeated many times since. Every father and mother are the family's store keepers. They should store whatever their own family would like to have in the case of an emergency...store a year's supply...that might keep us form starving in case of emergency.”

What our members are saying...
“ I'm glad we pay for the services, I'm glad it is monitored, I'm glad it is open to discussion and that when contention arises it is handled. This is a "safe" domain to enter and be a part of. ”

More from our members...
“ There are so many benefits to participating on this site, for me, that it would take quite a while to enumerate them all. Suffice it to say that the forums have indeed awakened me to our "awful situation", more than once, and spurred me on to action. ”
