Want a milk cow but have little or no pasture?  Dexters are an old, heritage homestead breed from Ireland.  They are half to two-thirds the size of standard cattle and are known for their triple uses:  milk, beef, and oxen.  They are disease- and parasite-resistant and will eat forage many cattle will not. 

Dexter milk is more homogenized than that of most cows (that is, the fat globules are small and well-dispersed throughout), which makes it easier to digest than the milk of many cattle breeds. 

Our Dexters are selected for temperament, udder shape, and general robust conformation.  We milk our Dexters and pet and scratch them every day; even our bull is gentle and friendly.
